During the fall 2014 semester, our small liberal arts college received a grant intended to aid faculty development initiatives to incorporate digital storytelling in humanities courses. With grant assistance, faculty members from across disciplines have been supported to make pedagogical changes that utilize the affordances of multimodality in digital spaces, better enabling them to teach students to become informed, capable, critical readers, curators, and creators of digital narratives. In our chapter, we explain the conceptual framing and scaffolded implementation of grant-supported immersive workshop programming offered in 2015 to train Moravian College faculty members interested in integrating multimodality into their arts, humanities, and social sciences courses through digital storytelling projects. We also comment on how, in general, grant-supported faculty members developed digitally enhanced pedagogical approaches and raised important questions for us to consider moving forward, and we offer suggestions for those at other institutions who may be considering this sort of implementation. © 2018 Taylor & Francis.
